5/20/12: Solar Eclipse, Castle Pines, CO

An image from this evening’s solar eclipse, captured from Daniels Park in Castle Pines, Colorado at 6:45 PM. Unfortunately, about twenty minutes later the sun disappeared behind a cumulonimbus cloud, so we missed the best part. Since the eclipse was occurring near sunset, the change in light levels wasn’t as dramatic as it might have been, had it been mid-day. But, Reade and Tate got to see their first solar eclipse through a telescope that their Grandpa James had rigged with some sort of solar mylar film, and it worked great.

Thanks for posting! The clouds came in here literally as soon as it started so we didn’t get to see anything.

    Not bad!
I was on high ground above Santa Fe Dr, a couple miles south of Titan Rd. at a party. The house was loaded with windows and our view was bright bright sun, then clouds & I couldn’t see any eclipse action.

Too bad you all didn’t get to see it, and glad I at least caught a bit of it to share!
